I commenced my Scouting as vestry adviser for the St Saviours Anglican church to the Ferguson Scout Group, then offered my services as Assistant Cub leader to the group, then accepted as Cub leader, after I wanted to divert from cubs I took on role as assistant group leader, then was asked to become assistant District Commissioner for the new district created. I then retired from this position and after a period accepted a position as Vestry liasion officer. for St Saviours.

My Awards for exhibition at the Campex International exhibition held in Christchurch 05 October 2000, achieving a bronze award for each display on thematics and social.
After retirement from full time scouting I can now put time into my hobby of stamps and redirected that to focus on scout stamps and Walt Disney as an additional fun collection. I have written some articles for the Christchurch Philatelic Society on the theme of Scouting. and have been a member of the Society for over twenty years. I also belong to World Wide Sealers club,(for cinderellas & Labels. plus a number of internet stamp groups.
